Good afternoon
Today visited a special display of arms used at a battle back about 1880. Firearms are on display at the local state museum. The S&W #2 is serial # 13460.

The Colt (?) is one I cannot identify. It would have been nice to turn it over.

Mike...

I'd say they've got that one misidentified 'cause Colt never made a break-top revolver. The unfluted cylinder and hammer spur aren't right for a S&W 'Baby Russian' (S&W .38 Single Action First Model - circa 1876) but, otherwise, it's a pretty close copy. Could be contemporary knock-off, I suppose.

the "COLT" is either a Smith and Wesson #2 or a clone thereof. Definitely not of Colt Manufacture.

Good morning Bill
The grips are horn as best I could tell. That particular revolver was dug from a battle field down near Moquegua (1880) . Probably an officers weapon. What became of the internal lockwork can only be guessed.
