For those of you who have one.....

I'm seating these things and the ogive is starting below the case opening. Am I missing something?

Apparently there are different types of calipers....DUH

Are you having to seat deep because of malfunction? I started casting with this mold, loading for Springfield range officer 1911. I had to seat to 1.22COL to pass plunk test. what gun? Loading as cast?

I load them to 1.250 in a Colt NM, a Kimber factory and a Kart aftermarket barrel with no issues. That is just above the grease groove. The profile is definitely NOT hardball. Some barrels make you seat it deep.

In my somewhat longer than normal throat Bar Sto's I need to go in the vicinity of 1.220 to 1.230" to get them to chamber. Others have reported shorter.

Due to the deeper bullet seating be cautious about powder charges in relation to those used with bullets with more ball like ogives and more standard seating depths. Ball is 2 radius. The Lee bullet is 1 radius, thus 228-1R.

Interesting. My Bar-Sto barrel had no throat as it left their factory. I had all kinds of problems until I determined that, and had my gunsmith open the throat slightly.

hmmm, not sure what the question is ?

I use it. I seat to COL=1.210 and no problems functioning and firing in Taurus PT 24/7 and a Baby eagle.

I had to seat mine at 1.215 to function properly, I use a low powder charge when seating deeper due to the increase of pressure. Shot alot today with AA#7 10.4 grains and shot really good .

Yes in my haste I grabbed an architectural caliper used for scale models I guess. The first clue is when it said meters on one side. I'm thinking "meters that's odd".
