Grip frame project

I need some parts that no one will make. One is a backstrap to work with a Powers front strap on single action Rugers. Clements Custom Guns was making them but for whatever reason he won't make any more so I was thinking a machinist might be able to copy the one on my gun... with one or two modifications.

How would machinists tackle a job like that? His specs are on his CNC program but they're not for sale or rent.

Just got off the phone with a local shop and emailed them a pic and he said they'll copy it which makes me wonder why no one sells them in Brownells. Here's a pic of it (http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b233/targetshootr/IM005101.jpg). It's fairly close to Elmer Keiths #5 backstrap.
