You all have been the most helpful people i have met... so i have a question for you Machinists out there.

I have ALOT of brand new end mills i acquired probably 2 years ago, and some slightly used. i am guessing there are easily 75, alot of single end and quite a few double ended. most have 2 flutes and most are 1/4" to 1/2" diameter. there is also quite a few Smaller (tiny) single and double end bits. i would guess there has to be $800+ worth of bits from some of the searching i have done. I have machined before but i have no interest in keeping these and need some help figuring out what i should do with them. any suggestions?
Thanks

You can sell them to a used machine dealer if you just want to be rd or them, you can sell piecemeal on EBay, hobby machinist website and the like, or you can get into machining and use them.

I'd be interested in what you have for myself but couldn't nearly afford $800 worth if stuff. I'm just a hobbyist.

Wasn't looking to get $800 but they are worth as much or more. Don't need 40 brass bit can use 45acp and 380. Also need some molds for 380 & 9 mm.

I would certainly be interested in some of them but by far the best way for you to dispose of them would be E-Bay, new end mills in the size range you mention go for good prices there. It might take a while but you would most likely get far more money for them that way, do have brand names? Are any of them Carbide? Are any marked Cobalt or HssCo?

I could use some 1/8" & 1/4" round end end mills,
1/4, 3/8, 7/16 & 1/2 always good to have extras

most appear to be HSS there are some cobalt and some carbide. yeah I figured I could get more if I list of them on ebay but I figured it would take too long because of how many I have.
that would take forever so I figured I would ask here to see what i should do. I would take about $400 worth of trades for it. I rather trade these days than to deal with money exchanges.

These all appear to be square end mills.

That ain't junk for sure!

That's an excellent assortment of high quality end mills in just the right sizes.

what would you estimate their worth? as a lot?

Just looking at the pic it's hard to say but you could get a good idea by going to supplier site such as Enco, msc, etc and price them by brand and size. Prices vary so wildly so it's all but impossible to accurately price them as a group by looking at the picture, HSS will be fairly cheap while Cobalt will be quite a bit higher and carbide prices will knock your socks off! Then there are different coatings that can mean a lot of difference in price so as many of these things as you have it would be to your advantage to take the time to price them correctly, you can also just Google the brand name and part no. on individual pieces and get pricing fairly quickly also. I sure wish I lived close by so I could look at them in person but if anyone is interested in stocking up on tooling for a small shop that is a dandy selection of the perfect sizes and I don't see a thing there except top quality stuff!

thanks Old Red,
Guess i need to either spend some more time researching their value or make a few stops at local Machine shops.

Oldred or anybody else...what would a good selection of these be for a 'beginner' home shop? I'm going to get a lathe and mill eventually and am always looking for suggestions on equipment. I'd be working on steel and alum.
