Don't recognize that alloy mix, but ISOTOPE LEAD @96-3-1 has been going for about $1.20- 1.25/lb shipped. You also have to take into account re-inforced shipping tape on the boxes and any transportation necessary. Don

92-6-2 is the standard hardball that most commercial casters use.. it comes in about 15 on the bhn scale.. It was what I started to look for when I was a newb.. Isotope lead is good for a lot of uses... just different ways to get a harder bullet.. some ppl like it, other ppl use stuff with less Antimony and get good results..

Hardball Alloy is the generic designation for Magnum Alloy and has a composition of 2/6/92 (Sn/Sb/Pb).

The alloy was a joint development effort by Terracorp and Magma. The goal was to develop an economical yet effective replacement of Lyman #2 for the commercial casters.

Hardball alloy is most easily created by mixing equal parts of Pure Lead with Linotype 4/12/84. Doing so gives you the resulting 2/6/92.

Terracorp copyrighted the term "Magnum Alloy". As others began using the 2/6/92 composition, legal battles ensued. The final court decision was that although Terracorp had rights to the name, they had no rights to the actual alloy composition. So the industry name for 2/6/92 has developed into "Hardball Alloy". The two alloys are identical except for the name.

I can make it for about $1.50 per pound! So, that is what I would pay for it. And yes, as they said above, I'd sell it for about $2.00 per pound!

I've got a prospective local group buy for it at $1.80/lb including tax here in the Twin Cities, if there is sufficient serious interest in it. So far it's about 1/2 committed, we'll see if I can get commitments for the rest, if so, I'll be placing the order for a ton of it.
