Okay, I made the plunge and have ordered a Magma Star Lube-Sizer. Been wanting one for several years and now is the time. Based on everything I’ve read or heard it’s as good as any out there, and better than most. I ordered it with heater base and air feed for the lube.

Now what I need to know is what dies to order for it. I need one die for 44 magnum. There is not much point in slugging the barrel as I have 4 of the guns to “feed” and I don’t want a separate die for each gun. So I guess I need a die sized for the “average” 44 magnum. Would some of you who understand this much better than I do please let me know what you think would be best?

Same goes for 45 LC (CAS guns). I have a few of them I’ll be loading for (mine and others) so again I need an “average” size die.

I believe there is a gentleman on this site who makes an exceptionally good quality die for this lube-sizer, so if somebody could give me his name I’ll refer this directly to him.

I’d appreciate any thoughts, comments, or advice.

Thanks guys

Opps. Guess I should have posted this in the Star Equipment Corner. Sorry. Moderators - could you please move this for me. This computer stuff is not my strong suit.

44 mag should be .430
45lc could be .452 or .454 - I size mine to .452 and it works just fine.

As Hatch noted, .430" for the .44's, and .452" for the .45 Colts. Both work well for me.

Hope this helps.

If you are shooting soft cast downloaded CAS ammo I find .454 is a safer bet. Easier for the gun to size it down than bump it up.
