Thanks! Didn't find that particular reference but I didn't know about that group. I thought that all the Yahoo groups about bullet casting and blackpowder stuff were owned by Charles Hamilton.

Can't work up much interest in the pistol until my howdah comes back from the upholsterer. I guess the delay is due to a lack of tiger hides...

I guess the elephant driver expected the guy with the howdah camera to protect him. But he did have two howdah sticks...and threw one of them at the tiger.
I'm surprised the cat kept coming after that.

But, if you are in the howdah, and the tiger's target is your driver, I don't suppose you realy need a pistol...

I shot an original in 16 Ga. once and it was a hoot. I also had a m/l 12 bore side by side that was cut to copy Porter Rockwell's gun, 10" tubes and all. It actually shoots very well with 60 grs of ffg and 1oz of shot.
