well.
I was so bent out of shape about them wanting to even consider giving this out.

any way someone must have opened both of their eyes or read the proposal.

figured this was 'hometown news'.

Sanity and decorum won out this time....I don't know but would guess Panetta never served. I spoke with a Maj. in the ANG, soon to retire, pilot friend Sunday and he was so disgusted when I asked his opinion of this his comment was "I'm so sick of the military."

A friend of mine told me felt that the Pentagon must have a pre-production medal somewhere; he suggested that they give it to "Ace" drone pilot Obama.

Drone pilot's biggest risk is a repetitive stress injury from moving the mouse
too many times. BS idea to give any sort of medal when NOTHING is on the
line.

Drone controllers are just that...controllers. They are not pilots.

I don't mind if the Air Force wants to commend a person for doing an outstanding job ... or for working extra hard to do a regular job. That is the purpose of the AF Commendation Medal.

But, the Air Force doesn't create a new Commendation Medal everytime they create a new job, so this Joystick Cross was totally out of line.

I'm thinking that Obama (as Commander In Chief) thought that he could (somehow) qualify to wear it.

Imagine that. The serial bow down, (low down), apology clown ... wearing a military 'hero medal'.
