I bought a new 24 /7 Taurus compact in 40 Smith and Wesson . It has the accessory rail under the front of the barrel . I didn't want to spend 79 dollars on a light to attach to the gun, plus all the factory lights seem to be really long . So, I picked up a little flashing toy from Walmart , it has a flashlight on one end and a light up wand on the other with a safety whistle built into it . One push of the button turns flashlight on, a second push turns on the flashlight and the wand. A third, turns on the wand only. Another push turns the wand on flashing . So I cut the plastic wand part off and took the LED out of it . Covered it all in electrical tacticool tape . I had to add some tape at the end with the flashlight so it would fit a 1-inch scope ring I had . Here it is for a total of four dollars . Its bright enough that I can see an entire room in pitch black ,and then align the sights.
