This .54 Caliber mold arrived recently. It has no markings, a modified Lyman sprue plate and an adjustable base plug. Does anyone recognize it?

Looks like a very familiar mythical hero bullet that I shot recently. ;) the profile looks a lot like the 50 Beowulf. Idk how that would fair in rifle loads though.

Possibly for a .54 paper cartridge Sharps. They wrapped a paper sleeve around
the shank on the back, glued or tied in place and then filled with powder charge
and sealed at the back. Put the cartridge in the chamber, life the block to cut
off the tail end and add a cap or use the Maynard roll of caps type of ignition.

What size is the cavity?

Looks like a hollow base heeled bullet to me. But the lack of lube grooves is puzzling. I've never see the bullet that Bill mentions above, but that would make sense.

I can see what appears to be a very wide lube groove. If the base plug were shortened to leave a wider trailing band the groove might be more apparent.

What size is the cavity?

The movable plug is .540". The location of the plug is adjustable.
