I am sure this has been gone over but I couldn't get the search function to work. Is there a good .223 boolit that does well in an AR?

Depends what you are looking for. If you want something that will cycle the action and be reasonable accurate out to 200 yards I like the RCBS 22-55-sp. I find that mine shoots best between 2000-2300 fps (I've done 2600-2800 fps with this boolit...but it was less accurate and I used a very hard alloy). If you are looking for something that shoots at jacketed velocites AND is as accurate as jacketed...I have not been able to find it. I keep looking at a few of NOE's boolit designs...

I load up a gob of the 22-55-sp and use them for plinking and short range tactical stuff at our local range. Use a good lube and work your way up with a suitable powder. I've been using H335 lately...mainly because I have about 40 lbs of the stuff. My 26" 1:7 twist does not like the RCBS, but the shorter AR's (for whatever reason) and slower twist guns seem to function and are accurate enough for my purposes with this boolit.
