Was out looking for pewter(first expedition)found this at at junk store. Figured I could use it for something, paid $5.Wooden box was not included.
Would like to know what it was originally used for?
It has Nikor Products co, Springfield, Mass. USA stamped on the bottom.
I think it was used for wire or possibly solder
Thanks
Darrell

Film developing spools and tank.

Yes, for film. You go in the dark room, and in the complete blackness load your 35mm film onto the spools. Put them in the can with the lid and then go back outside to develop and process. Haven't used one of those in 30 years.

Generally very good quality stainless as it was manufactured "back in the good ole days".

Yup, some are for 35mm and some for 120 roll film. Used those many times when doing black & white photography several years back. Still have a couple of them.

I am surprised so many know what these are. I have a lot of photo equipment. May be worth a fortune in 100 years lol

I might have to store some tin or lead solder on them if I ever get any.

Those in the know will have noted the olive/pearl onion skewer stations of the MOAMM.

That brings back fond memories when I used to shoot 2-5 rolls of B&W a day. I never used a canister that held that many though. Lost my enlarger in a moving accident and broke the condensers. I still have a Nikor enlarging lens and I am starting plants in one my old trays right now. Last time I did any darkroom in volume was when I was the Cruisebook editor for 3bn7th Marines on deployment in 1984.
