I acquired some 38 S&W brass a while back and just got around to loading some black powder loads for my top breaks. I came across several of these nickle cases that are each head stamped FC, Federal, and 9mm. I've never heard of that marking for 38 S&W. Can anyone enlighten me?

Sounds like 9mm Federal cases to me. This was a short lived effort between Federal and Harrington & Richardson in the early to mid 1980's to put some zip into the H&R revolvers. Basically a rimmed 9x19, loaded to fairly high pressure.

Problems came about when it was discovered that the rimmed 9mm would easily fit in .38 S&W chambered revolvers, some (most) of which are none to strong.

There is a demand for the 9MM Federal cases. Advertise them and someone will speak for them.
