Thought I would start a new thread to let everyone know what info I have found out. DZ Arms is in the process of introducing a replica of an early Unertl Scope. It will be a 3/4" tube, 1" bell, fixed 6x power, and overall length of 22" if what I understood is correct. They are in the initial testing phase with 5-6 prototypes produced. Dan Zimmerman and Steve Baldwin will be testing the scopes. If everything works out in testing they hope to have the scopes for sale within 3-4 months. Needless to say the scopes will use the DZA Unertl type mounts that the company already has in production.

Did they give any indication as to the cost?

They said it would be competitive in price with the other scope makers out there. I am guessing here, but as their mounts are recommended for use with the HiLux Leather Malcolm 18" short scope, I am thinking they will probably be priced somewhere around that model. I am calling them back next week when Dan Zimmerman is back in the shop and may be able to get an idea on the price then.

Sounds good. I wonder if they'll sell the scope separate. I already bought a set of his mounts.

Got a hold of Dan Zimmerman today. The scope will be an 8X power with a 1" bell to keep it within the BPCRS Rules. Using DZA mounts the center to center spacing between the blocks will be the same 7.2". The lens are being made in Texas with everything else made in Oklahoma. He is not sure on price for just buying the scope separately, but a package of scope, Unertl style mounts, pope rib, etc. is going to be around $900. This all hinges on how the prototype scopes work.

If they can make a scope as good as my J W Fecker, I'm sold!
