Stopped into Ky Gun Co Saturday morning and they had a pretty good supply of CCI SP and SR primers. But they sure weren't cheap at 44.95 a thousand. I'm sure their price is up since they usually have some of the best prices around on just about everything they carry. The short supply might be easing somewhat but I'll wait till they come down more than that.

I am somewhat amazed that so many seem to believe that we will ever see 20-$30 per K US name brand primer again.

Consider that primers were $9 to $10 per K over thirty years ago and compare the rate of inflation price increase to most anything else.

On 8-29-77 (close to 36 years ago)at a local retail gun shop I paid $0.96 fro 100 primers , $4 for 100 once fired .45ACP brass and $234.95 for a new Colt Govermentment model Series 70 45ACP.

The last 5K primers I have purchased local have been $40 per K. They did have Tula primers for $25 per K but at that time I was unsure how depenable they were.

Eh, it might be a little high, but beats that 200.00 / 1K I saw on Gunbroker sometime back.
