I really like my new Lee Precision Melter. It has a small 5 lb pot for quicker and smaller casting jobs. I also have two other pots, the RCBS Pro Melt and the larger LEE 20 lb.

Agreed. I traded into one and find it handy for small batch ladle casting. Closer to 4 pounds full to the gills though...

Yes I have one too. Use it mainly for rifle molds since they are mainly single cavities. Keep a harder mix in it. Really helps to have two pots at times.

I've got a Lee 5 lb pot also. It is vintage unknown and has no heat control. Says on the label "temperature is suitable to cast bullets"

I use my 5lb'er to pre-melt to keep my 20lb'er going when casting 45-70 boolit's

Good idea.

This little pot will get VERY HOT, maybe hot enough to melt antimony. I set the thermostat to 7 and walked off. When i came back lead was melted and temp was 1000 degrees. I ended up setting thermostat back to 3 on the dial to reach target of 700 degrees. Seams hard for me to set for a stable temp. I like my 20 pound pots lots better for casting 100-200 boollits. Although it is a good pot for VERYSMALL jobs such as described by zuke in the quote above.
