I just cast some with it and it does real well for my intended purpose of using it in a 44WCF as it drops .4293 on one side and .4303 on the other. I'm sizing to .429 so it just makes it:shock:

I wish I could use that mold for one of my 44 mags, but .429 is just too small. But, should be perfect for the 44-40.

My 6 cavity drops right at .430 - .431 with COWWs +2% tin or range lead with 2% tin + 30% lead added. I size at .430 and they shoot just fine in my 2 Rugers (44 Mag and 44-40), Colt Anaconda, Hawes Western Marshal and Contender. Might try adding 2% tin to your alloy and see if they don't come out a tudge larger.

i bought this same mold hoping that it would drop .430 as my barrel slugs .429, but it drops .429 also. i had to melt my boolits back into ingots and am now waiting on my .430 240gr swc by Lee

Think I need one of these for the 1872 open top I don't have, yet. Be nice looking in a 44 spl or russian case.

mine shoot VERY well from my 5.5" sbh. just touches .430. 10 grn unique and vavaoom super accurate and mild enough recoil a 11 yr old went through a box of 100 right quick.

I have a Lee 200RNFP6C that throws .430 to .431 boolits. I wanted .432 for my Winnie Trapper, so I tried "leaning on the handle" a mite more than usual on my old Lyman 45 lubrisizer that had a custom .432 die installed. The boolits "bumped up" to .432, without exerting anything I would call extreme force. The hardness of my alloy was only Bhn 11, so that could be a contributing factor. Harder alloys may test the strength of my handle and I don't wanna go there.

ps: I have also used this technique to swell the noses of some of my cast rifle boolits that needed a little more girth.
