new rifle questions

greetings folks, i just ordered a romak psl rifle today from sog[it's kind of military surplus] and i was wondering if any of you folks have one, if so how does it shoot? any problems? accuracy? and do yall think it will handle cast boolits? any load ideas? thanks for any info. sc03a3

If it's the one I believe them to be it is a sniperised AK variant on steriods trying to be a SVD sniper rifle. They do alright for their intended purpose but the recoil is a little more than the SVD as they have the AK style gas system instead of the seperate piston type of the SVD. They are in 7.62x54R. No experience with the Romak but in an SVD 314299 cast of WWs and water quentched, sized .312 and loaded over a charge of 4831 (don't remember so I won't guess) shot ok and functioned the action. Not sure how it would work in a Romak but it's where I'd start.

thanks larry, i use the 314299 mold for my enfields, and i have a good supply of h-4831, so i will start there. sc03a3
