I'm new to casting and my next purchase is a lead pot. Do you guys prefer a 110 or 220 pot? What would the advantage of a 220 be over a 110? I have a 220 plug near where I will be casting. About how long is the 220 cord on a 220 Lee pot?

Thanx - Jon

I have both and never noticed any difference in performance. I did notice the cord in much cooler on the 220 unit.

220 volt will draw less amps of current.
If you have 220 available close by, I would go with 220.
Just remember, that if you take your pot someplace else, like to a friends house, it might not work there.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Because the 220 V pot uses less amperage it has the advantage of less loss in the cord, but it also has slightly less accuracy in it's control.
(In a LEE pot that is a little like saying a sawed off shot gun is more accurate than a blunderbuss)

Below ~ 1k watt 110 is more convenient above that 220 is the better choice.
