View Full Version : Lyman Handles - difference between 2 cav and 4 cav?

Since I couldn't find any 4 cavity handles online, I ground the $h^t out of a set of Lyman 2 cavity handles to make my 4 cav mould fit. I also drilled new, larger holes just forward of where the existing holes were so I could attach the mould. This seems to work ok (though I need to loosen the big allen bolt a bit more).

My question is.. anyone think I would gain anything by buying a pair of 4 cav handles if they come available (aside from having extra handles)? Are the tongs longer on the 4 cav handle than the 2 cav? Or by grinding and drilling have I essentially duplicated the 4 cav handles?

Thanks!

If what you did is working, well, then what's the problem? If it works, don't try to fix it. :)

Welcome to the forum by the way.
