I saw this video and thought I would see what you guys had to say. Doesn't sound like a great idea to me, but it is tempting because I already have the stuff.

I don't know if it is a copy of my info but I found it and posted that long, long ago when I had loose checks. I did not watch the video, no need. It worked on the boolit I had.
Yes, it can work.

Oh, awesome! One less thing I will have to find and buy while nothing is in stock.

Is there a trick to it, like making sure the tension only squeezes to the size you want, or do you basically just make sure you get crimp it on there and shoot?

I did a search and couldn't find it; of you know where that old thread is I would love to peruse it.

It was a long time ago and I haven't needed to do it for a long time. I tried to just crimp the upper part of the check just enough to make them tight without sizing the bottom.
I used a punch to push the boolit in the die base first until the crimp portion just touched the upper edge, the base of the boolit is above the crimp fingers, adjusted the die to barely squeeze it. It takes very little.
I had pictures but lost them with the last puter crash. Now I can't even find the punch I used but remember it had to be the right length. I was not sizing anything, just wanted the checks to stay on.
