Ciao, Beppe.

If the cavities are cut properly, and the venting is good, and one's casting technique is good, then the material the mould is made from shouldn't make any difference.

Lee moulds cast as well as any other commercial mould. Their roundball moulds are the best I've found.

hi there, and welcome

They have different characteristics. Iron or steel molds retain heat better, are harder to damage, and usually produce fewer bad boolits. Aluminum molds are lighter, more resistant to corrosion, and cost less than comparable iron or steel molds. They are less durable than iron or steel molds. Most experienced casters have a preference for one or the other, but either can make good boolits when utilized properly.
