Hi Guys,
Can anybody give me a ballpark value on a like new
94 win in 30/30 cal. ? It still has the winchester tag
on it, and the guy said there was only two rounds
fired thru it. The gun was made in 1975 and is just
beautiful to look at with a very nice figured walnut
stock. Thanks for any info.

I gave $250 for one made in 1980 that had been allowed to rust on the reciever, you could actually make out the hand print. The gun had probably had less than a box put through it when I bought it. That was 6 month before the announcement of the factory closing.

I have been paying between $300 and $1200 for the winchesters I have been picking up this year. The first price was for one made in 1910 in good shape and the last was for an unfired 1886 extra lite 45-70.
I don't think I would pay over $450 for the one you describe as that is where I think the real value is not the never to be anymore model 94's is as I don't believe we have seen the last of them yet. I think they are waiting for the desire to have a real winchester 1894 to get a little more interesting then they will start making them in Japan or Germany and we will model 94's for sale again.
just my 4 cents

I agree with shdwlkr. Let all the bluster die down and they'll be back. Probably made by Miroku.

There was a large number of pre-64 Winchesters in the auction I posted about yesterday.

Well, I picked this one up for $200 dollars.
I guess I did pretty good then. I didn't
really want it because I can't hunt anymore,
but for the price I couldn' pass it up.

Winchester 94 will be made again, after 31 March 09. They had a UAW contract rider that does not allow them to produce or market the models that were in production at the old plant at the time of shut down.
They will be produced at the FNH facility in South Carolina. Everything will be either CNC or EDM. The machinery will all be new. The new guns should be the best ever made.

MGD--

That is GREAT news if it comes to pass. A "pre-64 quality" M-70 and M-94 would be a fine thing to have available again.

The UAW surely hasn't done either Colt or Winchester any favors over the years.

I'd say you did very well at that price.Any model 94 in the shape you describe is well worth 200.00.

First, $200 for a M94 30WCF in that condition is a GREAT buy. Congrats.

2nd, MGD that is great news!!! Maybe that 38-55 takedown will finally arrive.

UAW? New Haven Winchesters were made by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers... (Aerospace workers? If the quality of the work coming out of Winchester towards the end was any indication as to the skill of that bunch, I would advise one and all to cease flying immediately!)

Lets hope they continue where they left off. I still need a 9422 and 9422 Mag and a 25-35!
