Chat room

I have had a PM request to join in at the Chat Room
I clicked on it and all I got was a commercial and a grey background
How does one go about using Chat Room?
What is the trick?

gotta have java running right.
I have to use google chrome to get in, I/E won't do it for me.
one day it would and the next it wouldn't.
you also have to have active-x controls set up to allow it.

I'm sorry to hear that Popper.
I'm in there quite often, and although there are a few people that use "not good" language occasionally, for the most part it is a pleasant place to hang out and talk shop.

Went to Chrome, and it said I needed a special Java
Too much trouble

I do not chat, text, but if you want to communicate

java isn't supporting I/E anymore so there are lot's of 'stuff' out there you need it for besides chat.

I don't know....it doesn't seem painless. I've tried several times over the last few months and even got in once, but nothing I download or do on my end seems to last. Every time I try to log in I get a message that the Java Applet (?) isn't current and I need to download. I download, start the install process, and then everything comes to a screeching halt.

I'll have to try using Chrome next time I try when I'm at home.

I went through the same thing.
I think I had java on my computer 15 times.
you have to do the chrome thing or it don't work.
something about I/E not being secure anymore or something.
i'm not real good with computers and I can't even explain it to myself, that's just what I had to do to make it work.

I use Safari and it logged right in. I have not had any problems with it. Wish I had the info to be able to use mIRC for it though.
