The Lee C358-158-SWC or Lee TL358-158-SWC would be my first choices.
6gr of unique set of by a standard small pistol primer is my plinking load. For full on magnums, 2400 and H110 just under max gets the nod.

I shoot the Lee 358-158-RF in a Ruger GP100 (Wiley Clapp - 3") and also in a Rossi 357, shoots like a champ. Love that boolit (the 125 is great too)

I loaded up some 150 gr swc behind 5.5 unique but havent tried yet. The moulds i have so far are Lee 148 wc and swc.they drop around 148 - 150. Available powders are unique, trail boss,HP38,titegroup and solo1000. How heavy a boolit would be preferable? The 158 is on mu list.maybe im trying to make a 45 out of a 38. Lol

I really like the 158 RF from the Lee 6 banger molds. I shoot them out of my 6" GP and my 3" SP-101. Loaded near max with H-110 and a heavy crimp. If you hold on to that SP, the recoil isn't too bad. It is a waste of powder on the SP because of the short barrel but it is fun to shoot. Most of the loads shot out of the SP are either Bullseye or Unique using the above boolit.

The Lee 158 RF is a good one.
A little heavier would be a Lyman 358429.
Maybe look into a group buy / custom 180gr WFN.

I kinda like the 358477 (or clone). I have an NOE clone of that, HP'ed. VERY nice and accurate bullet.

I like the Lyman 358156. It has 2 crimp groves for both 38 spl and 357.
It also uses a gas check to help with the leading. This is about the only one that I use.

I am a fan of the 358-477 or the virtually identical RCBS 38-150 kt SWC. I load it over 5.0 grains of Unique for my snubbies or else 14.5 grains of 2400 in Magnums. These days, I have a MP 359-640 160 HP that I load for serious social purposes.

The most accurate boolit out of my GP100 is a 148 grain full wad cutter. 3.6 gns of 231. Very accurate.

The longer the bore riding surface usually the better accuracy is. The RCBS 82302 or Lyman 358665 cowboy moulds will work nicely. These boollits are not gas checked but should work nicely if velocity is not too high.

I really like the durable RCBS moulds best. Then my next favorite would be the Lyman brand. The two alignment pins on my Lee mould receeded causing out of round bullets if mould was not squared before pouring.

This is my boolit of choice. Pretty little thang too.

NOE is currently running their version of the Keith 358429 with swappable pins to make either SWC's or hollowpoints. I just had one delivered, and it's purty. For a .357 case, you'll probably have to crimp over the front driving band to get it to find in the cylinder, but I am actually coming to like this approach because that front band is protected from damage.

For snub barrel, short range apps, trajectory is not really a factor, and I like the idea of heavy and slow to reduce recoil without sacrificing penetration. Accurate Molds has a lot of options along those lines that intrigue me. The 36-170A, 175A, 180F all have just enough taper to simplify use of a speedloader, and loaded to about 700fps will still penetrate plenty while generating a "shoot all day" level of recoil.

+1 for Lee's 358-158-RF. This one and their 125 RF is all I shoot anymore in that caliber. Cast up 500 just the other night with my 6-banger.

For up to 25 yds, I favor a full WC first choice! Beyond that 158 Semi WC of your choice.
