yesterday at around 6pm was shooting my p220. fired two 8 rd magazines through it then let a friend try it on the fourth shot it stuck where its at in the pictures. it did not go all the way rearward, it stopped so the ejector just got to the breach face it even still had the empty case in the extractor.

there was no weird report from the shot or funny metal sounds. i was standing 4 feet behind and about 2 feet to the right of him.
nothing stuck in the bore and no leading
nothing foreign stuck anywhere i can see for what i can see
its not rock solid it does wiggle where its at just wont move from there.
please help me if you know whats wrong.

It looks like a Keltec i seen at a range one time. Look from behind and see if it may have slid and jammed itsself on the guide rail the slide rides on. Its the only thing i can think of.

blown up recoil spring is this common for locking up slides?

I have read through a couple more forums and they were talking about weak recoil spring causing this problem. But the bad part is no one said how they were able to return the slide back. Seems to be common on some of the models. May try a rubber mallet or your palm by tapping the slide. But if it was my own gun i would, but im not telling you to do it on yours if you don't feel comfortable.

I would liberally soak the frame/slide contact areas with CLP or another penetrating fluid and allow it to work. Look under the slide to see if the recoil spring guid rod shifted and got jammed.

Just a hunch -- could the barrel lugs be jammed between slots inside the slide? If so, you might get it to move by rapping the muzzle and/or front end of the slide with a soft (plastic) hammer. If that is the case, next step would be complete disassembly to check if there's wear or damage to the lugs and grooves.

no barrel lugs here, the 220 chamber area is the lug

What about the locking block on the frame? Theocking block on my 92 barrel cracked and locked up the slide one time

Another thought is do you have pictures of your gun field stripped? It might give you a better idea of what's out of place. If it's similar to the 226 I can snap some photos of mine and post them for you

Bulged barrel!
now just just have to teach my friend about squibs without making hime feel like it was his fault that its broke. it can really happen to anybody as i was standing right there and didnt hear any changes in report

this brings my ratio of broken pistols to 3 out of 4

Ouch! - who's made that threaded barrel and what threads does it come in?

Yikes. I've had a few squibs before. Luckily it was me shooting and I noticed it. Was the barrel the only thing affected?

It seems so, it looks like I did more damage to the finish getting it apart than the malfunction originally did.
The accuracy with the regular barrel will tell the tale as it were

KB, that pic of the ring in the barrel, awesome pic, sorry its ringed. You're gonna have to teach me to take and post pictures as well as you do. Definitely the thousand words+ thing there.
