Hello all. I'm new to casting and need some help identifying this alloy. I suspect it's linotype just because of the block lettering but I'm not sure. Different fonts and sizes of letters on the blocks. It's not magnetic, very heavy, it's brittle (breaks off in pieces without bending) and it's crystallized looking where it breaks off. I don't have a hardness tester and haven't melted any yet. Wanted to get some input first before casting any of this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Looks like the Mono type that I have almost a 5 gal. pail of from an old printing shop a hospital had for their printing needs. This letter type has a high tin and antimony content versus what lead it has, making it a good "sweetner" for straight ww alloy.Robert

the little ones on the top right are the line of type.
the big ones were used for headlines and were generally the mono-type alloy.
