Hey Guys,
Just loading up a few .32 acp for my 1914 7,65 Mauser, I loaded the usual 71g FMJ with 2.2 gr of WW231 at COAL .960 inches, and some 60 g Hornady XTP HPs with 2.2g of WW231 at COAL of .915 inches. They all chamber and will cycle as I manually operate the slide.
Problem is the Lead RCBS 32-77-RN bullets I cast today, they drop great right at 79g and I run them through the sizer at .312 .....but
I have to seat them all the way back to .905 inch COAL (this is basically seating them all the to top of the first band) otherwise the slide will not close fully, I removed the barrel and checked the chamber...its just snug, that first band will stop the slide from closing if I don't seat them all the way back. Oh yes and all crimped to .332 just like the jacketed bullets that do chamber(also no case bulging is present)
I reduced the charge of WW231 back to 1.9 grains as this deep seating is using up about 15% more of the case volume than the standard 71g jacketed load.
Has anyone had a similar experience with the .32 acp and RCBS 32-77-RN mold?? and 1914 Mauser.
thanks
