That would be incredible to own. Only trouble I see is, like lead, one of the big scrappers will buy it up at a ridiculous price.

Big Scrappers are not the only ones who have large resources and make Mega purchases,.

Some reloading operations have contracts for millions of fired brasses, primers, and matching quanities of powder per year.

Some cast ,.size and lube thier own boolits but also purchase massive quanities of J words and a few even make thier own J words.

I was watching the auctions in my state of AZ and the ones that sold ended up going for $9.40LB. Now that's before the 10% buyers premium, also state taxes and transportation and this was for 1x fired 5.56 cases. At the price those things sold for it comes to just under .13ea and for a lot of folks out there when purchasing large amounts it's not very affordable. Then after going through what was just bought I'm wondering how many bad ones are found bringing the cost up even further.

Might be cheaper to fly over to Afganistan and "pick up" as much as you want................LOL

Can't go to a Walmart in Afganistan to buy ammo. They didn't build any over there since there were already so many Targets everywhere.

As an experiment, I bid $2.00 a pound this morning - on several lots - and got outbid by noon. The auctions still have a week to run. The serious scrappers won't even bother to bid until the last day.

I think it's more the ammunition re-manfactures who buy the stuff up than scrappers.

There is not much meat on the bone for scrappers even at $2.00 lb. I would wager the brass is not going for scrap.
