Hi.. I'm having issues with a Lee powder measure, and thinking seriously about replacing it with a Dillon. Looking on Dillon's site, they show the measure, the powder die, and a funnel for whichever caliber you need it for.

I am loading .45 Colt using H110 and Lil'Gun, and the $20 Lee charge bar that you buy extra only throws 22.7gr of H110 at the max, and the auto disk only does 24.6gr maxed out. I really don't want to buy the double disk kit, if I have to spend another nickel to get a powder measure that works right, it sure won't be a red one.

Will the Dillon mount on the Lee press and work good with the 3 components I listed? The powder funnel is the letter E that says .45 handgun, this will do the case flare and operate the powder measure okay? Also, I see some of the Dillon measures with two charge bars stacked, will I need this for charges up to say 27gr of H110 or will the bar that comes with it work for that much powder?

Thanks, nice place y'all got here, enjoy reading every time I come here..

Doug....cannot really answer the question about making your press purple  as all my progressive stuff is BLUE, but welcome to the fray anyway.

My Dillon 550 has done any charge I have ever asked of it and I have never had to "STACK" anything, small charges get the little bar and big charges get the big bar....so simple even I can run it without incident. I will say I LOVE MY DILLON and say no more.

The dillon measure will throw the charge you want. But you will need to fix a way for the powder measure to be reset after each stroke. What press do you have?

It is very easy to add any measure to your Lee press by using two Dillon parts. Either call them or look on line at Dillon Precision. The parts are a 450 powder die and the 450 adapter. The PD is $22.95 and the adapter is $21.95 I used those parts for years on different presses as they have certain powders that don't work through the Dillon, like all Black Powders for one. I keep one set for my 550 and another for my RCBS press. I have used them on a LEE Cast Turret with great success.

thats easy to fix

You double up on the spring and if you have the latest model of the powder measure you screw the safetly in the down position so it doesn't catch.
To be honest my press functions fine without the powder safety rod hooked up.

I have an older Dillon Square Deal powder measure that I use on my Lee classic turret press.

It has a 7/8 die and I have 2 different powder funnels for pistols that bell cases going from 9mm-45 colt.

It is case activated and works great, although it has to be readjusted for each caliber.

Dillon sells powder funnels for all calibers. I do not know if the newer ones are case activated.

Couldn't get a live person at Dillon.. Thanks for the replies, as best as I could figure, the powder measure already comes with the powder die, so I put in an order for that, and a powder funnel for .45 handgun so hopefully this will get me going.
