New Guy Lost Bullet Lube

New to this forum. Most forums I read say you guys are the best!!
I was scrounging around in my old stuff and found some .308, .44, and .458 cast bullets that have lost some of their lube. The coloring has leached out in the plastic bags. I was wondering if I could just roll them around in some LEE Alox and reload them. I don't cast so I don't have a lube set up.

The short answer is YES.

But to do it properly, I'd remove all the old Lube. That is easily done with a heat gun. WHY you might ask ?
Mainly, any clinging lube, if it still adheres to the boolit after it's fired from a gun, can cause the boolit to be out of balance. While that's not likely with an old lube that falling out of the grooves...it's still possible.

When applying Lee Liquid Alox, I'd skip Lee's directions.
you can thin the alox with some mineral spirits, I'd preheat the boolits, then tumble them around in a cool whip container with as little alox as possible and still get 100% coverage. I like to put it on so thin you can't see it, but you can feel it. It'll dry to a haze over night.

If you put it on too thick, you'll surely have seating problems during reloading...when it's applied thick, it never really dries, it stays kinda tacky and can build up in the seater die, which causes variances in COL.
