Anyone here ever use it?
Is it a tumble lube, or a pan type?

Which Rooster? I used Zambini but it has been discontinued as a hollow stick.

I sent rooster labs an email some time back and asked if they still made the zambini and they said the candle co. that extruded the lube for them went out of business so they dropped the zambini.

Let me be more specific. Was it a good product? How is it used? Why was it hollow? Why a tube?
If you could get it, would you buy it again?

I know I'd buy Rooster Jacket if someone started making it.

I have 2 pints of Rooster Jacket left on the shelf. It is my preferred lube for my .45 ACP USPSA loads. It works very well in its intended niche. A shame that it has been discontinued.

For the OP, Rooster Jacket is a film or "tumble" lube. Rooster also made several conventional lubes that could be applied either by pan lubing or in a sizer press.

Yes it was a very good lube. Hollow for RCBS & Lyman sizers required hollow sticks. If I was not able to get Carnaba red from White Label Lub.

I have used Rooster Jacket.
It is very good.

It is a tumble type but I don't think it is still available.

Unfortunately, discontinued last year.

Probably because PETA got bent out of shape when they learned it's made out of chicken fat.

Bbqjoe, that was a good one! I think we should check with the lube makers to see where chicken fat fits into the mix. :)

The chicken fat is between the skin and the meat, it fits into the mix right in the gravy.

If anyone wants to get into the development of animal byproduct lubes with me, I have access to lots of beef and pork fat drippings.
I guarantee they will have a nice smokey mesquite smell. Every time you shoot, it'll make you hungry.
