Does anyone remember thse wads, clear with a red insert that crushed to the load you were making? I'd love to find some 12 ga and try with my slug loads...

I've got a handful I keep but haven't seen any for sale you might try an ad in WTB section. Without any being manufactured you would have to find a decent size supply to make it worth your time. FB

I remember these wads but have never seen or used them, though I am familiar with the point of the adjustable crush section.

I am curious, though: How do you intend to use them with slugs, and why?

They were very adaptable for various loads. The insert within the shot cup was more sensitive to wad pressure and I'm thinking it will separate From the slug cleanly. BTW, I found some on another site and will report how they perform vs the ones I have loaded now.

hogtamer, did U ever try those uniwads out? I have a chance to buy some.

Yes I did. Came up with a neat 3/4 oz .600 Round ball load that shoot great @ 50 yds out of 12 ga smoothboore. Oddball I call it. Separate the inner cushion section from the wadcup and ease the ball into the "cage" crush section. Some of them break. Then a 28 ga 1/8" hard card into base of cage and into ??? wad (have to check) loaded over ??? grns 700x (have to check). Fun plinker load but still amazing penetration. Got about 300 in my load stash for "contengicies". Loaded thousands back in the day with birdshot loads.
Didn't work out with slug loads I had in mind.

I have a few left from that 20ga load you wanted me to try a ways back. They are 20ga but you can have them (back) if you want them.

Got my wads in a few days ago. Found out the fit my lee slugs perfect.
