Old powder ...540 win.

I've got some Winchester 540 and looking for a good charge for lee 1 oz slugs. Looking at some old manuals it looks like 34 grains ought to work. Anybody with experience with this combo? Suggestions? Thanks, Hogtamer

I think Win 540 and HS-6 were the same. Better check my math though my memory is worse than my spelling.

Thanks guys, yep, HS6 same as 540. Been a while since I 've dropped some powder. Great site and there was no 'net when I was loading hard and heavy.
