Was gonna say Igman. A friend did have a Sig-Sauer subcompact in 45ACP that left the same firing pin drag mark on the primers.

Would make sense being ATK. Had lots of Federal cases and some of the *I* cases had the same semi dish looking head as the CCI cases in the same can. So it seems Independence, Federal, CCI and Speer cases are the same.

Independance Ammo also uses CCI Blazer -small primer pocket brass. I bought 100 rounds of 45 ACP two months ago and fresh out of the box, they were headstamped as such. This just lend credence to idea that ATK is running as many lines as it can to meet demand.

Slide speed a little to fast, the slide is retracting while the firing pin is still extended out.

Yes, a good 1911, set up right will not do that to the primer. Not sure it is
a real problem, but I don't think it is a plus.

So is Independence a loader that buys their brass from Fed/ATK or a brand actually
made by Fed?

Maybe a weak or broken firing pin spring?

All my 1911's get an extra power firing pin spring.

That head stamp is new to me, but I don't sort 45ACP brass and seldom look at the head stamp unless there's a problem.
