Hi Guys,

Sorry about the confusion in my first posting about this great item. I guess I copied too much info from the ad, and this made it look like an ad for the item.

So here is the idea. I recently purchased some converters that resemble a 209 primer. But, they are a machined part. You insert a Small Rifle Primer into this adapter and use it in black powder rifles that normally use a 209 primer.

I bought the starter set which includes the tool to prime and deprime the adapter and 10 adapters. I also bought a second set pf 10 adapters.

These are great. They allow you to convert all your 209 guns without having to convert each breach plug.

The theory is that the 209 is too strong for black powder and the force of the prime pushes the bullet a little as the powder starts to ignite.

Using a SRP instead allows a more uniform ignition of the powder charge and increases accuracy.

I was able to use this in a 50 cal.Traditions 209 and increased accuracy enough to constantly hit bowling pins at 100 yards with a patched round ball. [smilie=w:

If you want to try them, I got mine from Cabela's. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/standard-pod-wrapped.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/pod-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat602007-cat601638_TGP&rid=&indexId=cat601638&navAction=push&masterpathid=&navCount=2&parentType=index&parentId=cat601638&id=0034484

1 in 28 inches. It is a Traditions TRACKER 209

From the on line ad:

Tradition's most economical magnum #209 muzzleloader. Ignite 150 grains of Pyrodex® pellets or powder with the Tracker's #209 primer ignition. A new one-piece breech plug/nipple design delivers the flame directly to the pellet.

4690

I use Pyrodex RS at 90 grains.
