I will be pan lubing my 45acp 200gr SWC bullets using the 1# Parafin, 1# Petroleum Jelly, 2 Tbs Stp Oil treatement.

My question is, can 2 cycle oil be substituted for STP? Mainly because I have it on hand.

Does STP have something in it the 2cycle does not?

polybutene, and pao oils.
2 stroke is poe and/or napthenic based, it however could have polybutene in it also.
if you have any chainsaw oil around it would be a good compromise between the two it definatly has polybutene in it and a pao base, and can contain other ingredients similar to the 2 stroke.

OooooooK so does that mean yes or no on the 2 stroke oil? Not being a smart alec, but you clearly know a heck of alot more than I.

2 stroke and stp are not in the same family base wise or generally additive wise.

I wouldn't substitute one for the other.
I would substitute lucas oil additive, or chainsaw bar oil for the stp.
gm top end treatment could be used also.
as could the old sticky lube we used to put on roll pads for case lubrication.
