I assume that there was an issue cleaning kit that fit in the buttstock of the 03 and 03-A3? With the spring loaded cover and the hole in the buttstock I assume it was for something, and extra ammo doesn't make sense!

What would have been included in this? Pull through rope or rod? Any bottles?

The original two compartment tubes were metal. WW2 later date ones were see thru plastic. Either had screw off caps on both ends. One compartment was a grease pot with applicator attached to the cap and the other end had a pull thru cord with weight and patch slot and a bore brush. Either is a might hard to come by nowadays.

In addition, during a certain range of 03 issue (about 1911-24) every other 03 was issued with a spare parts kit instead of the oiler/cleaner tube. The spare parts included: a firing pin, striker and extractor housed in a milled out wooden holder.

Little something to listen to whilst you peruse the manuals.
