If while casting coww for awhile and run out and then switch to pure lead by accident and not changing the melting temp will the pure lead give me the blue gold rainbow effect on top of the melt.

yes, in a word. pure lead is very colorfull in ingot form ..

Yep, and the longer pure lead stays in the pot at casting temp, the more interesting the colors become. It's just the nature of the oxide layer it forms, no big deal. I typically find that I can break the "750 degree rule" with pure lead and it casts better at 800 or so, since there's no tin to oxidize out.
