Finding/making slingshot bands

Where can I find the flat rubber bands? I looked at several sites and although "cool" I'm not paying $7.95 for 2 pieces of band tied to a leather pouch with $ 7.95 fpr shipping. That's the height of gouge.

Ive got a bunch of surplus rectal tubes that say 100% rubber. Ask around at your area hospitals, you should be able to get some of these used at a reasonable price. :kidding:
