Here is an article I put together after OD and I toured the Colt factory.

Thanks Jim, that is pretty good. We did have a good time and all the northern folks were real nice (though they did talk a little funny)

Very, enjoyed reading this. Though believe a major section of production was missing for WWII era.

I served the in Army/Germany with one of the Colt family members as my CO. John E. Colt Jr. He wouldn't talk about it, other than acknowledging that yes, he was of the firearms factory family. Very nice person, became a fair friend if an EM and CO can become friends. We had several nice visits off and on post. Went to the range a time or two together. Helped me tour Berlin when everyone else said it was too much hassle. Approved my purchase of some rifles. Sorry to say I don't own a Colt firearm of any kind.

Are you saying I am missing dates for WWII era production? If you have them or know where I can find them I would appreciate the information and it will be added.

Exellent report, thank you. I had no idea that Colt still made any pistols besides SAA. It's good to see that they are maintaining quality, though on a sadly smaller line. I guess the reduction in Colt's line has had a ripple effect throughout the industry. Parts availability is very limited from the factory and there are very few gunsmiths competent or willing to work on many Colt products. Sad.

Very well done, Hunter. I felt as if I walked beside you during your tour. MANY THANKS!

I have a few Colts in the safe, and have owned others in the past. A couple more wouldn't hurt my feelings any, either. :-) Things like Series 70 1911A1's, New Service and Police Positive revolvers, and the Anaconda appeal in no small way to yours truly.
