I have another question. Thank God for this site.
I have my LBT mold on order and am getting everything ready for when I finally start casting bullets.
The mold is .460, 400 gr. Marlin bullet. It is a gas check mold as I plan on pushing it.
So, I have a Lyman 450 that was given to me that I mounted to my bench. I have never lubed or sized any bullets. I see that Lyman or RCBS does not make a .460 sizer so if I want to install the gas check and lube the bullet what are my options? ( I don't want to pan lube)
Can I lube and install the check on my bullets without sizing on my 450?
If not, what are my options?

Contact member Buckshot, regarding a custom sizing die. Excellent craftsmanship and a very reasonable price.

Wow, OK, I will do that. With all the reading I've done on here don't know how I missed that.

I feel like if I went to the trouble to start with a .460, I don't want to size to .459 unless I have to. IE: chambering problems.
Thank You everyone, once again you guys come through in the clutch!
I can't wait to load this bullet.

Have you taken chamber/throat/bore/groove slugs so that you KNOW what dimensions your bullet needs to be?

By the way, you can seat GCs on a 450 w/o sizing and lubing the bullet. There is a little piece that looks like a small half-cylinder that fits underneath the luber around the depth adjustment screw. It prevents you from pushing the pin in the die down too far, just far enough to seat the GC w/o sizing or lubing the rest of the bullet.

Very few folks that I know (and I'll include myself here) use this piece and it often is lost because of that. If you didn't get one with your press that is probably why. I don't have an exploded view of luber to show you but maybe somebody else does or has a picture.

YES, AND it works very well. I use it for every gas check I seat.

I even use it to seat the checks when I will be sizing the bullets with the Lee push through dies.

OK, thanks for that info, good to know. You are correct, I did not receive that seater or the flat wrench but I'm not complaining since it was all FREE,

So, according to the instructions for my 450 (yup,I did get the original sheet) I can seat gas checks when sizing by just putting them in the sizing die and placing the bullet on top of the check, correct?

I spent some time taking the 450 apart and I think I have it all figured out. It seems the previous owner took good care of all his stuff.
