Until now most of my reloading/casting has been pistol cartridges and the few rifle I have done haven't given me any major problems. I recently picked up a late model Winchester 94 in 30-30. The only .30 cal mold I have on hand at the moment is the Lee C309-113-F and planned on getting one of the larger 150 or 170 gr molds later after the craziness dies down.
So I slugged my bore and it seems to be on the small side, maybe really small side at .307. I was loading my first loads and tried the first couple to see if they would chamber and I am well into the rifling of the barrel at the minimum OAL of 2.440. My question is, can I just reduce my load a good amount and work it up with an OAL that will chamber in the rifle? If not, any suggestions? Thanks for any help given!
