Traded My Rossi.

Well I traded off my Rossi 44 Mag Single Shot. The only thing I could get it to shoot was some copper washed 240 gr. slugs. I don't want to go to the expence of shooting J-words or making copper washed or buying them. I traded it for a G2 Thompson center and a 44 mag barrel, I gave the guy a $100 boot. I'm thinking about selling it and buying an H&R in 44 Mag and getting a 357 mag barrel for it also.

I may be mistaken, but isn't the H&R 44 Mag barrel oversize for caliber and most boolits?

I don't have a 44, but they are rated good. My .357 shoots leads great. ;)

I have a .44 Handi that does well with un-sized 429421 over Unique.

I am really looking to get a Single Shot 44 in a rifle. Maybe I should look into a 44 rifle barrel for the Contender. I'm not sure where I can get one for a reasonable price.

IMHO the H&R is a rifle. A rifle barrel on a Contender is a rifle barrel on a pistol action.

(I speak as one who owns a Contender, so don't jump all over me!)

I own an H&R Handi rifle in 44mag and the barrel is pretty large in diameter for the size of the cartridge. It does give excellent accuracy with most of the factory fodder. My next step is to start it on a diet of strictly cast in both 44mag and special.
