I have found that for my light target loads in my .38 specs & .357 Mags a BHN 9-10 range alloy works best for me.
Now since I have been sitting on a bunch of pure tin I bought back in the 1970's ( Cheap), I have easily made 25 to 1 alloy mixes with pure sheet lead and tin ( I like using the lead alloy calculator on this site)
My question is , outside of the fact that it would be more economical, is they any other difference in the castibility or shootibility of let's say, mixing 50 lead / 50 wheel weight to achieve a similar BHN over a plain Lead/ Tin mix?
Pros & Cons? Preferences?
Thanks
