My hand made powder flask

6552565524This the black powder flask that I made over few nights I thought I would make one out of wood as all the ones I have seen were made using a cows horn but I just wanted to try something different all the brass fittings I also hand made that replicate one I saw made in the 1800,s apart from the brass knob use too fill the flask that I bought from a hardware store.What do you think any comments appreciated thanks.

Very nice! Never saw one made from wood before. I made one from a Y section of Elk antler years ago and put it up for a prize at one our club shoots. Always thought if I built another flintlock I'd make a small one for a priming horn.

Very cool, I hope you don't mind a small suggestion, next one put the fill hole in the side, it looks like it wood sit on the end very nicely that way.

Yes a wooden one is a bit different and looks good on the firing line. I made one from walnut and brass and regulated it to throw a heavy load for a pair of 1860 colts I had.
