Just curious as to what you are using to pour in the hammer mold. Are WWs ok or should something softer be used? I remember seeing some old hammers that were really mushroomed out and assumed they were cast with soft lead. Emery
You can use either or both. I have my own moulds. a 1lb and a 2 or 3lb mould. I make hammers in both pure and in ww's as I need both for different reasons.

Speaking of that.
What's become of the loaner molds to cast these hammers?
IT's been months since I expected to get a turn at it and haven't
heard of them for a long time.
Would still like to make up a few for my own shop use.

Medic44 currently has the mold, he recvd. it on 7/27/07. I just reviewed the sign up sheet and did not see your handle in there. You need to go into the group buy division and sign up sir.
A note of interest, the current mold going around is a 3#er, I recently received a 2# mold for rotation from Texasflyboy so we will have another option.

So how do I sign up to get a turn at the new 2 lb mould?

Gonna need Wiljen to write in a new category and ID both. The original was not seen as having a smaller brother when it was written. I need to get pics and a small suggested manual of use posted also.

Springfield, go to the Group Buy forum, click on the "groupbuy.dnsalias" 7th down from top, enter, sign in, hammer mold is the 2nd item on the top bar. Emery

mazo: I was the first in line for the hammer mould, had it 2 days and cast up 12 new hammer heads. I was asking about the second mould, apparently it is smaller and I would like to make some of them also.
