Just wondering anyone has recently received an order and how long was he back logged for?

As far as I know Jeff, Hi-Tech, Wideners, and Pat's are out of powder. Could be a while. Did you place an order??

I've been waiting about 8 weeks. He said he had it and my name was on it. I don't think I've been charged yet.

Ordered 7 weeks ago. Was given a 6-7 week time frame to process. He said it was in stock when I ordered. Just wondering if the wait was longer. I was getting rid of my wc844 to replace it with wc860. I don't mind the wait but was just curious on time frame lately.

Ordered some about a month ago, he said it'll be here in about two months so I expect it sometime in May.

Depending on what you are looking for Powder Valley has Canister.

Methinks the day of Milsurp is gone except for MAYBE the really slow stuff.

A question, not criticism. If the power is in stock, why would it take two months to ship? Are they offering it before the bulk container gets delivered?

That's what I was thinking. I just figured they are busy with something else and giving him benefit of the doubt. Seems highly respected in the community. So I figured I'd give him a shot

I think he is a small operation, maybe just one man. I also know that the fedex and ups trucks that pickup can only leave there with 100# maximum powder on board. If he gets 2 trucks per day he is only shipping 4000# of powder per month plus the other stuff that has to be shipped, business stuff that has to be taken care of, procurement of powder, brass, bullets, etc. Running a business isn't for everyone, sometimes it really sucks.

Ahhh.
Thank you 375RUGER. That makes a lot of sense.

And Jeff has always been helpful in discussing powders, even answered a question I had about a powder he didn't sell me (though he has sold me quite a bit over the years). He's an asset, though it seems that the day of inexpensive surplus powders is over (except for the slow ones as noted already). I find the canister powders to be close enough in price these days.

I ordered 2 jugs of WC820 from Jeff a while back (6 weeks?). It arrived this past Saturday.

Jeff gave me the same explanation that 375Ruger provided. Although I thought Jeff told me the UPS truck can carry no more than 400 pounds of powder. Whatever the weight, it limits Jeff to how much he can get out the door each day.

Jeff's great to deal with; I've been buying from him for years.

I live 60 mi from Jeff, and go there every so often. Excuse to see him and my brother that lives in Owensboro. Just as an example.... I was there a couple of yrs ago, picking up some 300 Win Mag brass, and he had a stack of orders maybe 8" tall to place.
Now with the buying going on, that stack of orders is liable to be 2' tall.
He is a 1 man operation, and Jeffs not exactly young anymore. Or at least the last time I was there he still was a 1 man operation.
Now if you live close enough, you can do like i do and go pick up. Saves the wait and even though you pay sales tax, it's cheaper than shipping and hazmat fees.

I'd like to thank the people who knew the answers, and Jeff, who took time to post.
I was just curious. I'm waiting for him to get projectiles again.

I just placed my first order with him, I hope I did every thing right and that I actually get the powder. My only regret is that I do not have more funds available.

Damn how the hell did you get wc820. None has been available. I asked him about it 8 weeks ago as well

Ordered WC860 from him about a 5 weeks ago and he quoted 5 weeks as the estimated ship time. Hopefully should be here at some point. Still haven't seen the funds get charged (which I am told means your shipment is out the door).

Planning some WC860 experiments with 30-06 plinking loads. If all else fails feed it to the 50.

It looks like the 844 is sold out now, I hope my order from last night makes the cut. Does any one know if his contact info has changed? His number did not seem to work for me?

Looks like his line was just tied up, and it looks like I made the cut off whoo hoooo!

This will be my first time ordering surplus powder.

I check his site every so often and there it was. (I had been getting it from Pat, but he was out.) The next day I decided I'd get three jugs instead of two, and Jeff was already out.

I have a couple hungry M2 Carbines to feed.

How much was it? 820 sounds good for magnum pistol loads. When I inquired him about it he said he only knows of one source for 820 and he gets it time from time.

Looks like he is about 8 weeks on shipping. Currently shipping out orders from Jan 31st. Good guy

$100 per 8 pounds, plus hazmat and shipping. The last batch I got from Pat a couple years ago was, if I recall correctly, $80 per 8 pounds, plus the other expenses.

WC820 was developed for the .30 carbine cartridge, according to information I have, and is basically equivalent to H110 / W296. Perhaps a very very slight amount slower than H110. So it's just perfect for magnum pistol loads.

thought I'd give an update-it was about a 9-10 week wait after order, I think he said 8 when I ordered IIRC

Same here. He is shipping mine now. Still a great guy in my book.
