I'm about to load up my first batch of cast. I've been using ramshot enforcer with jacketed bullets. 19 gr with a 240 at about 1300 fps has been very accurate. Has anyone used enforcer with cast? Should I back off some? I'm trying to come up with two loads for my 629; something for hunting in the 1200-1300 range and something for plinking in the 800-900 range. I have a couple pounds of enforcer but would like other thoughts as well. THanks

Brian Pearce did an article on enforcer in .45 colt recently. I have not used it myself. For everyday useful loads I load Keith's of acww over 6.5 of red dot. I have had good results with it in several guns. For hunting loads 2400 , 4227, and 2400 have been good to me. My best accuracy has always been a couple of grains short of max but listen to your gun. Good luck.

What does the powder manufacturer say is max?

just checked their web site,(didn't think of trying that) the max load with a 255 grain is 20.5 grains at 1428 fps and only 26000 psi pressure. Sounds like this might be a good powder for higher speeds.

I have had experience with Enforcer with the 250 grain #429421 Keith bullet in the .44 Magnum, and love it. I have been a faithful fan of Alliant #2400 for years, but the recent shortages have required me to try new things.
I use 19.0 grains of Enforcer behind the 250 grain Keith bullet in the 44 Magnum with a CCI 300 primer. It is a very accurate load, meters well, no excessive muzzle blast or recoil, and doesn't heat my revolver up so fast. I am really impressed with Enforcer. I have had good results in 357 Magnum using the #358429 bullet also.
