Hello all,
Yesterday I cast my first boolits ever! I used range lead, half of them water quenched and the other half air dried. I have a pound of each reloader 10x, h335, and benchmark for the water quenched stuff. I am wanting to also load some reduced loads for my daughter with alliant 2400 (I have a bunch of it) and was wondering if anyone here would have an idea as to what a good starting load may be. I am shooting this out of a ruger hawkeye bolt action not my AR so cycling an action is out of the picture. And FWI, the boolit is the rcbs 27-130-fn. It is .920 inch long and must be seated to no more than 2.168 inches. Thanks for any help, Bill

P.S. If I can find any trail boss out here then I will but I don't see that happening any time soon. Also I put this in the military rifle section because of the cartridge not necessarily the rifle, although I may try the load in the AR for fun even though it will not likely cycle the action.
